Evan in his Crib

My Son, Evan, when he was little in August 2001

For this layout I used a piece of Blue Fern Studios paper for the background.

BFS - Tranquility- Contentment
(I used the backside)

I used a stencil with molding paste in the top left and bottom right corners and applied a wash of blue watercolour overtop to bring out the details more.

Grandma's Doily

These are the dies I used:

Decorative Labels 8
Prima - Parisian Lace
Prima - Crochet Doily

As usual I layered each die-cut over a darker version, offsetting them slightly to accentuate the edges.

I  did some stamping on the background using brown ink.

Stampers Anonymous - Bitty Grunge
(I used the polkadot stamp)
Stampers Anonymous - Urban Tapestry
(I used the upper right stamp)

The border piece was cut using a Cricut with the Art Philosophy cartridge (Rctngle 8) and very thin chipboard.  I then painted it brown, inked with clear ink and heat embossed it with UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel).  After that I dabbed black and dark red paint on it to try to match the colour of the crib in the photo.

I also applied some Prills (Lemon Chiffon) along the border pieces and randomly along the edges of the flower clusters.

The large flower on the right, the teddy bear, 3 small flowers and the alphabet blocks were made using Sculpey Ultra Light with various molds and then painted.

The alphabet blocks were cubes but I cut the back off them after baking using a polymer clay blade so they wouldn't protrude so much from the page.  It was a little difficult cutting through them but trying to cut them before baking distorted them too much.

Thank you so much for taking a look!
