Bjorg and Her Children

My great-grandmother with her children

For this layout I used a piece of 49 and Market paper for the background.

Tattered Flourish - Tattered Garden
49 and Market

I used a couple more pieces of 49 and Market paper for the purple die-cuts and the layer under the ripped edges of the background paper.

I did some stencilling on the background using Dusty Concord Distress Ink and a Clarity stencil brush.

Layered Wallpaper 6"x 6"
The Crafter's Workshop

These are the dies I used:

Japanese Garden Lace Oval
Cheery Lynn Designs
Detailed Scallops
Spellbinders
Doily Edge Essential Rectangles
Tattered Lace
Vintage Lace Border
ArtScrap Store (AliExpress)
Small Snowflake Doily
ScrapMan

As usual I layered all the die-cuts over a darker version and offset the layers to accentuate the edges.

Under the photo I strung some cylindrical and round beads on a piece of wire and rubbed them with Prima Metallique Wax in the Heather Hills colour.

I also rubbed the Heather Hills wax on the other metal embellishments.

The flowers are a mixture of Prima (Rose Quartz - Calcutta) and 49 and Market.  The leaves are from a couple of sets of Tattered Garden Laser Cut Shapes by 49 and Market.

Thank you so much for taking a look!

Nellie

My husband's great-grandmother

For this layout I used a piece of Blue Fern Studios paper for the background.

I trimmed then ripped and distressed the edges slightly (inking them in green). Then I layered the background paper over some ecru-coloured burlap and a sheet of green distressed Core-dinations cardstock.

These are the dies and punch I used:
Grand Decorative Ovals One
Spellbinders
Flourish #17
Cheery Lynn Designs

Eyelet Lace
Martha Stewart

I layered the punched edge and the oval mat over a black copy to create a faux shadow and accentuate the edges.

The original photo had been roughly cut in an oval shape to fit into a frame so it was difficult to cut a smooth border around the printed copy.  I glued a piece of linen piping around the copy to hide the sloppy edges.

The wooden scroll pieces were from an AliExpress store (Charming Craft).  I heat embossed them with Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamel in Shabby Pink.

The larger roses are by Prima from their Salvage District collection and the small flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts.  The burlap flower is also by Prima.

I painted the white metal birdcage taupe and wiped off the raised areas before it dried.  I then lightly rubbed it with some Prima Metallique Wax in White Gold.  I also rubbed the wax on the chain above the bird cage  and on the linen piping around the photo.
