Great-Aunt May

My Great-Aunt May

For this layout I used 2 pieces of a 7Gypsies paper called Floral Guide.

Floral Guide

I did some stencilling on the background with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink using a Clarity stencil brush.

These are the dies I used:

Spellbinders
Decorative Labels Eight
Cheery Lynn Designs
Flourish #13

I traced along the edges and veins of the leaves with a brown marker to accentuate them.

This is the chipboard piece I used:

Dusty Attic
Vine Corner

I applied Picket Fence Distress Crackle paint to the vine corner. When that was dry I brushed it with Vausseroux Artisan Powder, misted it with water and  dabbed it with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

The clay piece under the photo was made with a mold and Sculpey Ultra Light clay.  I intended to use this piece on another layout I did a while ago but the colour turned out too dark for that page.  It was a perfect match for this one but I can no longer remember exactly what I used to finish it.  I did some sort of crackle and sprayed it with a brown mist but there were probably some other steps and mistakes along the way.

The larger flowers were a gift from my friend, Lisa.  Thank you Lisa! The smaller pink and pale yellow flowers are by 49 and Market.

Thank you so much for taking a look!

  1. Oh Wow Tracy, this is just gorgeous! The subtle colors are so pretty!! Happy that you could use the flowers - they look really good on this layout! You've mentioned clarity brushes before. I have wanted to stencil like this for a long, long time. Thanks for the info and inspiration! I might have to give that a try in the future! You and Great Aunt May really do look like family. This is one of my faves for sure!
